Cantigny, part of the Chicago-based McCormick Foundation, is the 500-acre Wheaton estate of Colonel Robert R. McCormick (1880-1955), longtime editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune. The property is carefully maintained and open to the public for recreation and education, as specified in McCormick’s will. Many special events are held at Cantigny throughout the year. Most of them are held on the northern half of the estate, which is Cantigny Park.
