The main attraction at Richardson Adventure Farm is the “World’s Largest Corn Maze” with 28 acres of tall corn and 11 miles of trails, just one hour northwest of Chicago. Don’t let the size scare you; the maze is divided into sections, so you can do the whole thing, or just a little bit. This year, the maze design is “For Freedom: Honoring the Military”, and each person with a valid military ID gets in for half-price. Everyone enjoys the wagon rides, picnic grove, campfires and five-story observation tower. Kids love the pedal carts, 50-foot tube slide, corn crib, pumpkin patch, petting zoo and paintball gallery. Two features popular with big kids and grownups are the 700-foot zipline (glide three stories in the air over the maze) and the orb (climb inside a giant plastic ball and roll down an incline and across the field). New this year are two big “jumping pillows”, one for little kids and another for big kids and adults.
Open August 6-October 31: Wednesday-Thursday 3-10pm, Friday 3-11pm, Saturday 10am-11pm, Sunday noon-11pm, Labor Day and Columbus Day 10am-10pm. Maze til Midnight on full-moon weekends. This 10 acre puzzle with the theme of “Every Day Heroes” has 4 miles of paths and is a 10 year commemorative maze honoring the men, women and children who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Meadow View is fun for the whole family.
